Over the last 12 months, ACT has helped over 9,000 young people achieve their career ambitions by way of their Traineeship programme for 16 to 18 year olds.

Alisha Corria is set to become assistant manager at a local salon after successfully completing a Traineeship in Hairdressing and progressing onto an Apprenticeship.

The future is green for James Perry after a trainee placement with Gardens By Design led to full-time work and on to a Level 2 Apprenticeship, which he is now studying towards.

Young business owner, Natasha Hogan was able to make her dreams a reality and set up her own pet shop after completing a Traineeship in Animal Care and progressing onto an Apprenticeship.

Curtis Williams joined international engineering company Cyrus Engineering as a trainee and is now carrying out an Engineering and Manufacturing Apprenticeship with the company.

ACT has a range of Traineeships available in sectors as different as Animal Care, Hair and Beauty, Business Services and Hospitality & Catering. A young person signing up to a Traineeship with ACT will be given the skills needed to get a job or to progress onto further learning at a higher level such as an Apprenticeship.

There are lots of reasons why Traineeships are a great idea. First and foremost you get paid a weekly training allowance of £50 as well as money towards your travel expenses. The programme is also designed to give you an insight into the skills that top employers are looking for plus you get the chance to spend a few weeks on a placement at a real business/employer. ACT have amazing links with Wales’ best businesses which include British Gas, Barclays, Legal & General and The Celtic Manor Resort to name but a few so they’re in the best position to get you the start that you need.

If you’ve just left school and are unsure what to do next don’t worry as Traineeships aren’t restricted by time – you don’t have to sign up at a particular time like you would at a college. Traineeships are a brilliant way for you to build up the skills you need to succeed and can boost your confidence, giving you greater prospects for your future!

ACT was established in 1988 and has since become Wales leading training provider; delivering a range of fantastic bespoke qualifications for learners aged 14 upwards. Managing Director Andrew Cooksley set up ACT nearly 25 years ago after leaving school without any qualifications. Since then, Andrew’s mission has been to make a positive difference to people’s lives by providing outstanding learning opportunities.
